Journey with a great love

Lamar Herrin ran away from 1960s America. As he cross the ocean he met a man with a sister. And what a sister! She is a woman with one foot in conservative Franco Spain and one step outside the role of the traditional woman's role. The two lovers face a challenge as Lamar is a divorced protestant in a traditional Catholic country.
The book alternates with the story of the obstacles they face in trying to wed and their journey back to Spain some thirty years later. I really enjoyed this book.
